- Body - slender & flat like a leaf or strip.
- Most - endoparasites. Few - free-living & aquatic.
- Acoelomate & bilaterally symmetrical.
- Triploblastic
- Hermaphrodite i.e. male and female reproductive systems are present in the same animal body.
- Examples: Planaria, Liver fluke,Tape worm,etc.
Phylum- Aschelminthes [roundworms] :
- Body -long thread-like or cylindrical.
- Either free living or endoparasites.
- Free living animals - either aquatic or terrestrial.
- Triploblastic and pseudocoelomate.
- Body - non-segmented and covered with tough cuticle.
- Unisexual.
- Examples: Ascaris (Intestinal worm), Filarial worm, Loa loa (Eye worm), etc.
